German Red Angler

German Red Cattle/German Red Angler
7,657 herd book cows under milk control Performance: 8,486kg milk, 4.77%fat, 405kg fat, 3.64% protein, 309kg protein. The German Red Angler cow is attended in breeding in Schleswig-Holstein for more than 140 years and was able to improve exterior and performance of many domestic red cattle breeds all over the world.
Because of consumption habits and the quota regulation the breeding board tries to increase the milk amount while maintaining the protein percentages. Next to high milk ingredients the good daily weight gains, the prematurity as well as easy calvings, outstanding legs and black hoofs, as well as few calf losses have to be outlined for this breed.
Bulls from the own population and some Red Holsteins (RH) and Swedish Red Holstein bulls (SRB) are used in the breeding program to ensure the high breeding progress.
After using top sires of the breed Red Holstein (RH) for many years on German Red Angler cows we now are in a consolidation phase and try to back draw the RH part. We now use our own sires from our own population next to Swedish Red Holstein (SRB) bulls as well as Red Danish (RDM) in a combination-breeding program to ensure the breeding progress.
