Prefix dairy cattle

Each herd book farm has the possibility to add a prefix (herd name) into the herd book. The herd prefix is unique in Germany and appears on all breeding certificates, auction catalogues and other official publications of the animals born on that farm. The prefix is coupled to the operation key of the farm and is managed in the central HB-data. The prefix exists in a long and a short-form. Registration of a herd prefix has to be done via the local breeding association. You can find the registration form below. Registration fees are 250,-€.
